Luther junior Aubrey Ross to present voice recital

Aubrey Ross, Luther College junior from Litchfield, Minn., will perform a soprano voice recital at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.

Ross, the daughter of Mike and Julie Ross of Litchfield, is majoring in music at Luther. She is a 2011 graduate of Litchfield High School.

Ross will perform songs by Handel, Beethoven, Gabriel Faure and William Bolcom.

A reception will follow the recital. Both the recital and reception are open to the public.

Ross is a student of Andrew Wannigman, Luther alumni guest lecturer in music. She will be accompanied by Esme Wong, Luther senior. Her recital partner is Derek Sturtevant, Luther senior.

Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation with six choirs, three orchestras, three bands, two jazz bands and nearly 1,000 student musicians.

Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. More than 350 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, church music and performance.
